bakeoff rules & Overview

  • Each team will have one team lead and four other members
    • All the teams will be formed at the kick off event on the first night where Team Leaders will do a 30-60 second pitch on their product and then all of the bakers get to choose the team they want to be on.

  • Each team will bake one shelf stable item with no variants consisting of 5 or less ingredients and are limited to the following items:
    • Bread
    • Buns
    • Rolls
    • Cookies
    • Biscuits
    • Scones
    • Muffins
    • Cinnamon Rolls or any other variant
    • Sweet Breads
  • Options of ingredients available (limited to five or less):
    • Yeast, all purpose flour, high gluten flour, unsalted butter or oil, salt, baking soda, baking powder, white sugar, brown sugar, choco powder, powdered sugar, dried fruit (raisins or craisins), lemon juice, orange juice, milk, eggs, water
  • Seasoning is not considered an ingredient. You are limited to one of the following seasonings:
    • Rosemary, onion, garlic, cinnamon, all spice, cayan, pepper
  • Each team will have a total of two hours of production time to accomplish the following:
    • Prep
    • Mix
    • Roll
    • Bake
    • Package product
  • Each team will have the following equipment available for production:
    • Ovens
    • Mixers
    • Single pass sheeter
    • Sheet Pans (any specialty pan needed for product, will need to be provided by Team Lead)
    • Parchment Paper
    • Rolling racks
  • Each team will have to have their Costs Of Goods Sold calculated before baking
  • Each team will have a budget of $100 for ingredients and any amount not used for baking product will be available for marketing
  • Each team will have their own booth to setup for the market
  • Each team will have three hours at the market to sell as much product as they can on Sunday, December 8th, 2024
  • Each team can start marketing their product as soon as they can
